National Stroke Week – Think F.A.S.T, Act F.A.S.T
This year’s National Stroke Week focuses on encouraging Australians to become more aware of stroke, understand their risk and what they can do to prevent a stroke.
Stroke is one of Australia’s biggest killers and a leading cause of disability, but more than 80% of strokes can be prevented.
A stroke is always a medical emergency. The longer a stroke remains untreated, the greater the chance of stroke-related brain damage. Recognising the signs of stroke can help with early treatment.
